A) Supply and Demand. There is a huge demand for classic Halo and Microsoft is garanteed a profit if they port Halo 2's multiplayer component to the Xbox One.

B) Because Halo 4's multiplayer bombed hard trying to catch the CoD audience. A lot of fans refuse to buy into the hype of Halo 5 if 343I refuses to show signs of dropping the CoD elements.

C) Halo 3, Reach and Halo 4 still have there multiplayer component up and running. Bungie is apparently keeping Halo: CE running on PC and Microsoft is shutting off Halo 2 Vista's servers and they already shutdown the original Xbox Live. It only makes sense that they would revive Halo 2's multiplayer component with a port.
