This is right. Numbers don't matter at all. How many people play Q3 or UT2004 online now? Does that mean they are bad games? Nope.

Casual players will always move on to what's new. It doesn't mean the game is bad. If you see hardcore players leaving though, then you have an indication that something isn't right (See: starcraft 2).
