In Response To: Mac sound on level 2 (Twrch)

: I was comparing the level 1 files, and it seems that there are significant
: differences in the .dat files between Mac and PC versions, not at the
: beginning of the file, but nearer the middle. Perhaps an
: "endian" thing?

I was thinking similarly. That's one thing I hate about games nowadays. Any game that is made to be on a PC also (which is 98% of all games) doesn't have the clean resource files that Mac games have/had. They just have really big, raw, data files. Eck!

So even though the data could be managed better on the Mac side, the developers (understandably) stick with the nasty data files to cut down on porting time.
