: That sounds absolutely right. I personally, though, would
: equate the Berserks more to the Norse, the Vikings and
: such, than the Briton-Guals. Then again, the closest
: thing to the Norse in Roman connection were the
: Germans. That still works, since, after all, the
: Berserks are a comibination of both the Scots and the
: Norse.

Well if you realy want to get tecnical, the Scotts were a combination of Irish settelers and Norse conquerers. The Irish settled much of Scottland in the dark ages, absorbing the native Picts and Scoti (don't hold me to spelling on that last one). They gave the country its major laungage, Galic(although that has now been replaced by english). Then the Norce began to raid the area before setteling large parts of the Highlands and Middle Scotland.

Actualy I think the Berserks are a sub-group of the North Men. Kind of like an order of knights, the best fighters of the clans try to join the elit Berserker clans. The actual ordenary people are not mentioned at all exept for the home guard.

I wonder if the Empire required the Berserk clans to help with the Twenty Years War? Could be a reason why they are still viewed with suspision in the west...
