I'm thinking the same, but this is 343 Industries writing this whole thing, so I really can't say I trust in them at this point to pull off any good writing or for the obvious to actually be what's obvious. :P

Because for some reason, someone at 343 wants you to hate her. Or Karen Traviss does. Or both. They've completely glossed over how no one cared when this concept was brought up to fight the Innys, and no one seems to give a damn about what happened with the Spartan-IIIs either (because Ackerson is already dead? Or just because they really just want you to hate Halsey for some reason).
