It would be some much later point, probably after another mess like Halo Anniversary or the MCC, because they (we) like Halo and want to keep engaging with it, and think that 343i will listen to what their customers want. Some people are suffering from "change is bad" syndrome, and some people actually have valid points, or just have a subjective preference they'd like to have indulged.
Alternatively, they have mostly realized that and moved on, and that's why HBO and many other Halo fan sites have been ghost towns.
I couldn't tell you which is more true.
(Maybe you mean "move on" as in "accept and (try to) embrace", but humans and especially fans are not great at that.)
