I don't want publishers to think they can release a game in crappy shape because they already have my money.
And Halo 5 would need to be a console seller for me. It doesn't look like a console seller so far. I don't see any compelling reason not to wait and see. 343's track record and hearing what people say about the xbone also give me pause.
There are lots of reasons, I can't bring them all to mind right now but even if Halo 5 had looked frikking awesome I might not have pre-ordered because pre-orders feel toxic to me. I disapprove of them enough to want to send the publishers a message.
