Your opinions definitely matter, but you are part of the problem, if the problem is supporting companies that put out sucky things, and not showing less support for them because they do sucky things. I think pre-orders are not so good in general because it's basically telling the developer and publisher they've sold you the game based on what I would consider to basically never be enough information to make a truly informed purchase. If they have sold you, that's OK, but... they shouldn't be able to, in my view. The Master Chief Collection is the best example I've ever heard of of why it shouldn't be enough, but there are many good examples, and to me it's also just the principle of the thing, being informed, and telling them you need to be informed to make a purchase.
