Creatively speaking, I like what they are doing. I don't mind the direction the universe is going, or the more personal focus on the Chief and that stuff.
Hell, I'm even ok with what they tried to do in Halo 4- they NEEDED to do it- how else is Halo going to be relevant to other FPSs if it doesn't adopt some of their characteristics?
The negative group thinks I'm a broken record of positivity, when anyone who knows me personally knows this is not the case- I'm OK that many things failed to catch in Halo 4- I'm simply happy they took the time and risk to try.
There is only so long you can try.
Eventually need results.
I try to stick up for them, but they aren't making it easy.
It's hard to watch your favorite team and franchise flounder.
I still support 343, many people here do.
Where things are DIFFERENT for me (and hopefully others) is that I'll still cheer them on, but I need convinced too.
I've got my money waiting.
I want to buy and xbone and MCC. I want to try Halo 5.
I just need a reason and assurance that it's worth my time and money.
I can't buy something just because it says "Halo" on it anymore, those days have passed. Quality has been called into question.
I get just as pissed off when I see someone post here about cash grab this cash grab that
Those dorks don't know what a cash grab is.
A cash grab to me, as it relates to gaming is like a video game being released as a tie in to a move. (Transformers, Spider-man, etc) .
Or pressing a disc of a game just because it has a huge following, like Alien Colonial Marines.
Or releasing a new game every year (or less) to the point where it gets over saturated and loses luster, like CoD, Angry Birds, Assassins creed, guitar hero etc
Or having a ton of products that aren't tangibly related to the franchise anymore.
Halo isn't at that point. I don't see Halo kart racing, or Halo Beat-down Brothers, or a new game each year, or Halo toilet paper or Forerunner Turbo-tax edition.
I think it's on a dangerous path, because it feels lost.
At the end of the day, I don't know what's going on in there. Neither does schooly or you.
But clearly, something ain't right. And if they aren't able to do something about it, Then it's up to us to motivate them, with our wallets.
