There's also the fact that the UNSC headquarters are located in Australia. Which might mean the highlighted sections indicate priority targets of interest, for whatever value the Covenant assigned them. They looked in a lot of places for relics - Mount Erebus, Cuba and Cleveland, without finding anything.
