: I think they were best used in H1, and the magic behind them disappeared in
: H2's host of problems. Gone were the majority of 3 way fights and the
: overwhelming fear they had in H1. They started to use vehicles and act
: more like the covenant and that took away their unique twist. Then H3 had
: really fun flood forms to fight but unfortunately they were only
: encountered on their own and 2 of the 4 levels they were in were
: incredibly boring combat wise. To top it off, on the Covenant their
: encounters were brief and boring.

: H1 really used them to flip everything you did in the game in terms of combat
: on it's head, but they get a bad reputation in H1 from the Library, which
: was a pretty polarizing mission that most people seem to hate. But 2
: Betrayals? Keyes? The Maw? All insanely awesome.

Let's not forget they could use vehicles in Halo 2. More than anything I felt they were downgrade in Halo 3.
