: Midship looks like it was changed a fair amount. Now that could be good or
: bad, but it also seems too dark, again I haven't played of course, just
: noticing.
: The other map looks like Skyline and Longest. The anti-aliasing in the
: trailer was terrible. That was a bit odd, since it was a trailer they
: could have touched up.
: Overall I am still excited, really excited for back to basics arena, just
: making mentions of some things I haven't seen yet.
Take in mind that the beta is still over 4 months away. I doubt that they would have a map in the beta that was too dark to actually even play on. All of this stuff is going to be tested an insane amount, so I have faith in them releasing something that isn't broken.
I would also not worry about engine related stuff like anti-aliasing. I'm sure that things like that will be optimized for the beta. Even if it isn't, they have another year to fix stuff like that.
For me, the maps look amazing. I'm not just talking about aesthetics, but about function as well. These maps are so far giving me a Halo 3 vibe and that makes me really excited. There is story behind all of those maps and I can't wait to explore and see what I can discover. Halo Reach had way too many Forge maps, and the addition of sprint forced the maps to be WAY too big. And then Halo 4 didn't have a single map that I enjoyed. Most of them looked exactly the same and they were all outdoor vehicle maps that had some structure in the middle for infantry. The design was uninspired and it really turned me off from the game.
What I'm seeing now is really building my excitement and I am really starting to look forward to what the Halo 5 Beta and the full release is going to bring.
