Take a step back -- the critique isn't about painting those traits as negative. Rather, it's about how teenage boys interpret those traits and what words they use to describe them.

Objectively, a phrase like "acting like a girl" is totally meaningless. It's only when it's assigned cultural baggage that it becomes both offensive and illustrative of how boys are taught to see girls. So the interesting question isn't "What words do boys use?" It's "WHY do boys use these words?"

Being a "snitch" is a bad thing, sure. But what type of behavior are teenage boys calling being a "snitch?" How are they defining the word? I bet there is a lot of behavior that society should be fine with or neutral towards that's on the outside of that box.
