That definitely took a turn I wasn't expecting; that the UNSC found them so quickly, and Halsey being arrested. I was expecting more time with Halsey/Mendez/Spartans on the, uh, Onyx system Dyson Sphere (Trevelyan), but as you said, expectations are often a big part of your enjoyment of a work.
Though I certainly enjoyed the events on Trevelyan in The Thursday War, and that it occasionally gets mentioned as a source of UNSC-used Forerunner tech and information.
