The ideas were great, and she has much potential, but the execution was boring. I had to assume much about their circumstance and surroundings that I just wanted to get back to Venezia.
Only when Chol had a friendly chat outside Sav's residence was I entertained. That's aboot it...
: I was really enjoying it but I wasn't really satisfied with how it ended for
: them. I don't know what I expected, but I felt like I kept waiting for
: something to happen with her and her crew that just didn't get there.
Yeah! My hopes were that Serin saw an ally in Chol and her nationalist views. The Kig-Yar have no gripe with humanity. They've proven with Venezia and on other colonies that they can mingle with humans diplomatically and economically. Most of all, both have a mutual distrust of the Sangheili.
BB already downloaded the data and schematics from Naomi, and I'm sure they can acquire a battlecruiser through more straight forward means. They really don't need her. What they should have done in the end was turn Naomi over to Chol Von and agree to talks between Earth and Eayn.
Otherwise, I would have loved it if Chol could have just taken her regardless to build her navy. Bitches gotta get shit done!
: Also a little surprised nothing was really wrapped up with Telcam.
: Since this is also the last book in this trilogy, I wonder if anything will
: spill into a future game/book/comic etc.
I'm really thinking the Kilo-Five wasn't necessarily concerned about the myriad of rebellions occurring throughout the Milky Way. Yeah, okay, it was kinda about them, but they existed merely to highlight a lot of moral arguments, namely the Spartan program and the things ONI would do to ensure humanity's supremacy, and their own.
I don't think we've seen the last of these characters at all. They've opened too many doors that can't I don't think can really be enjoyed through games or comics. Now that we've kinda removed the Halsey debate out of the equation, the Haloverse could move onto dealing with focusing entirely on the post-war situation. Hopefully that'll come with another book series, preferably one that's open ended.
