The underlying, and unproven assumption from which all of your argumentation flows is that locking people out of some content is bad. You seem to hold it forth as self-evident, but it's really not. I'd argue just the opposite: exclusives incentivize sales and service fans. If a metaphor helps you, consider physical collectibles and whether their scarcity is harmful.
