Special editions and collectors' editions, and the things they come with, are different from pre-order exclusives (often those copies are pre-ordered, very often in fact, but they don't have to be and they often are pre-ordered because of artificial limitations on how many will be made).

anyway, I also got a code for a recon helmet with Reach, which I think was because it was pre-ordered or bought in the first day or part of the first batch or something, and I gave that away too (I kept the card because it's kind of neat)

It is broken, as I pointed out elsewhere, and some of the language is outdated especially where information or electronics are concerned, but I value the rights I have, and this partially counterbalances the long terms of copyright and the new restrictions... but then maybe you wouldn't disagree with me like I interpreted that to mean and I don't need to be defensive... still, if you don't defend your rights, you're apt to lose them.
I wasn't appealing to it exactly anyway, I was trying to demonstrate that the idea that information should be free and open after enough time has passed is one that been widely accepted and approved of among many different nations and cultures across several hundred years.
