Does John have any legal obligations to the UNSC?

He was kidnapped as a child so they can't say that he signed a contract.

He must have put in enough time served by now.

If they tried to force the issue in the courts... Skeletons!

And there is no point in locking him up.

He could just walk couldn't he?
