It sounds as though it would be more like something like Battlefield, but with a Halo flavour. Which may not be a bad thing, since those games seem to be pretty popular, and I think Halo has the sandbox variety to pull it off.
But as much as I'd like to see the return of some honest-to-god Helljumpers to Halo to show these new-fangled "Spartans" how REAL humans get the job done (just being a bit facetious :P), and as much as I'd like to see someone continue the story of the Gunny and Dare and the Rookie...I just don't see it happening. At least, not under 343. Maybe if they contracted another company, like what happened with Ensemble, but the end result of that felt a bit...restricted. Like they had more they could have done, story-wise and gameplay-wise, but that their shuttering by Micro$oft meant they had to cut so much of that. Yes, I'm still bitter about that.
I also feel like it belongs to another part of our history, and that it should be left to lie. It had it's run, ya know? Let us remember it fondly, rather than wish they'd just stopped at one.
