Making sense =/= good name

E.g. 'Ringworld' would have made perfect sense as a name for the first Halo game. But it wouldn't have been a good name. They're already riffing Niven enough, no need to copy the title of his book as well.

Similarly, a lot of people get the uneasy feeling that Halo 4 was borrowing heavily from Call of Duty already. No need to make their secondary PvE mode sound like the same thing from another game.

Yes, I prefer known quantities to uncertainties too, usually.

Absolutely no reason to have 'Spartan' in the title at all. You play as a Spartan all the time in Halo. Even when you don't, functionally speaking, they are the same anyway. (ODSTs and Elites) Functionally speaking, everything you've ever played in Halo has been a 'Spartan Operation.'
