: I pray the high definition remaster craze is soon over. Besides, why would
: they release an anniversary edition of Halo 2 only 9 years after its
: release? :P

: In any case, I think 343i had a hard enough time making a solid product with
: Halo 4 in three or four years so I'd certainly hope they wouldn't try to
: tackle an annual release.

Agreed, I despise the idea of annual releases. Now if it were just to be a game with its setting in the Haloverse, that is something I would support IF the games were to be substantially different styles of play, still given years of nurturing and care by the said game's developer, and stay true to already concrete canon. The Haloverse now spans from the legacy of the forerunners to the present story where humanity is on the rise, and I believe, soon to be tested by the Precursors to see whether or not they are worthy of rightfully inheriting the mantle.

I feel it is ludicrous to have an annual Halo game just because it's renown will secure sales. To see it go the route of CoD or even the EA sports games such as Madden would be disheartening. Also I agree on there being no need for a remake, Halo 2 was visually pleasing enough that remaking it wouldn't really have that 'wow' factor. Plus, as I previously stated, there is just sooo many fresh stories to be told.

On the idea of new Halo games, here is a vague idea of a Halo game I'd love to see done.

I'd really love to see a RPG done that resembles Mass Effects play style, but when landing at a destination plays more like the elder scrolls games. I would love to play a Forerunner and create a fresh conflict to drive the story, there's millions of years to play with. As a bonus 'leveling' is already in the lore, in the form of manipular, first form, second form, and maybe third form, I do not recall reading of one beyond second. There's also brevit(sp?) mutations for ways to gain minor abilities in between the forms. Now just make the character you become one like Bornstellar, and now you can choose between the 4 rates, possibly 5 but I have trouble visualizing an entertaining way of implementing the Juridical rate since, with use of Catalog, they simply enforce the mantle, or Forerunner 'law' in a sense. Before this turns into an essay I'll mention one last idea that would make combat plausible for all the rates, and that is early on have the character go through a forced brevit mutation from a warrior-servant, that way all rates are combat capable and being of a certain rate adds a unique flavor to their fighting abilities. Okay... one last idea, find a way to make the game enjoyable without being solely combat-oriented and that will add joy to other rates.
