Having worked at a job that required a lot of time away from home, I can totally appreciate what he's trying to do. I saw a lot of turnover there, and within the same age range. A lot, including myself, left because they wanted a family and a good balance. Almost all that I know that have stayed there have married within the company because they haven't spent time outside of it. I think it works for them because both spouses know what the workload is like.

I also realized that no matter how much I enjoyed my job, or how unique it was, spending too much time there made it miserable. We might sit on the outside and imagine how cool it must be to make games all day, but after spending 18 hours a day for a couple of years working non-stop it wouldn't feel so fun anymore.
