I think that was the point of his post and the reasoning for the relatively low mm population. Halo has its gameplay niche just like the other powerhouse FPSs. Halo has seemingly tried to mimicked other FPSs strong points and it's come together in a less-than-breathtaking mush. It's almost like it's trying to be too broad and appealing. Many casual gamers enjoyed Halo 4 and may have moved on to the newest game on the block by now. The staying power isn't what it was.
