XBOne Installation

I've been holding off on getting an Xbox One due to cost and software problems. My little brother got one for Christmas and it took 7 Days of continuous installation to get the MCC, that came with the system, to install. He is currently on hour 30, or so, of installing the Halo 4 Beta which is sitting at 80%. This is on faster Broadband internet. Is this because the files are SO large and so many people accessing them, or is there something else that is causing such laughable install times for these things?
