Hang with me, cause at least that's what I'm feeling. I'm enjoying my time playing the game, but that's mainly because of the co-op fun I'm having with one of my good friends (my same reasoning for enjoying Spartan Ops so much). The story just doesn't feel fully fleshed out, kind of like SpOps but like a side story to a bigger campaign. Destiny kind of feels like Spartan Ops (2nd half) taken to the next level as far as co-op fun. They're both repetitious with a certain amount of objectives cycled through, the story is honestly fairly weak and only through short cutscenes between levels, they exist on giant maps that are curtained off at choke points for different missions, they can be played solo but are semi-designed for co-op and they rely on on your 'personal spartan/guardian' being the character.

I think 343I could take a few cues from Destiny and make Spartan Ops something pretty awesome that's included with the Chief's story and re-visioned multiplayer. The psuedo-MMO thing Destiny has going with random players showing up while out on missions and a central 'Tower' could work with the Infinity as spartan HQ. From there, you could access Multi, SpOps, Forge and Firefight all with your personal spartan. Each season of Spartan Ops (there had better be a season 2 this time) could be a minimized version of one of the Destiny worlds (Earth, Venus, Mars, Moon) and rather than loot, custom, cosmetic skins for weapons and armor variations could be unlocked or even micro-transactioned.

Anyway, I've just been playing a good bit of Destiny lately and couldn't help but feel the similarities with Spartan Ops a few times. 343I could take a lot from Destiny for Spartan Ops while maintaining a separate Chief story!
