I was really looking forward to reading it, until that plot twist happened. The bad guy is Captain Cutter's son? What the hell? That just seemed kind of lazy and way too convenient, to be honest. And if you're going to do the whole "getting revenge for my parent" storyline, why not use his daughter instead? She's actually been established; this dude just comes from nowhere. Also, I'm not sure if we're actually going to even see the Spirit of Fire at this point.

The parts on the Sangheili colony were neat. Oddly enough I'm enjoying the Lasky-Petra side-story more than the actual Spirit of Fire plot line; which I really wasn't expecting. Although I wish they depicted the Covenant wearing more casual clothes rather than armor. Maybe I'm just in a nitpicky mood this morning :P
