I started playing Halo when I was 13 and the music was a huge part of what made the game so great (and the same can easily be said of the sequels, especially Halo 2). When I heard the signature monk chant at a friend's birthday party ten years ago, I fell in love instantly. I'm 23 now - I don't play Halo or video games as much as I used to, but your music was the soundtrack to a large part of the last 10 years of my life and also kindled much of the interest I have in music today. I am deeply saddened to hear this news and I can only hope that if you decide to remain in the industry, you are hired by another fantastic video game company who gives you as much freedom of expression to compose and integrate those compositions into games in a meaningful and dynamic way as Bungie did.

Marty, thanks for all the wonderful years of amazing music and I wish you only the best going forward. I'm sure you will bring that same enthusiasm and love for your craft to whatever you do next.
