I didn't so much mind that SGC started commissioned their own fleet since I knew their ability to adapt and refine technology was advancing, but it seemed so bland at times.
Another thing that irked me was the introduction of the Ori. I enjoyed their backstory and all the mythological beings who came into the series, but there were too many religious zealots in this series. The Lucian Alliance really got my attention because they were a relatively powerful force without the need for a religious sect based upon their god, the Goa'uld, or anything else. They were a counter balance to the Tau'ri, yet a lot like our society - just in space. Universe including them as the bad guy of the week, then as secondary cast, really excited me.
