the US is a larger market because there's more people ;)

and they have to wait to get it right because US buyers are finicky. a console launch has to be done right (think Dreamcast) or you get a flop (think Saturn)

in japan, they'll buy just about anything electronic and pay just about any price for it. which is why stuff comes to japan first at an inflated price. it wouldnt make much sense to release something in the US at one price, then jack it up when u send it to japan...

or something....
