: Two people. One spirit. The one spirit had been both
: Ravanna and Culwyeh, who are different people.
Umm…could you explain this one more time? I still don't quite get it, I dont' think…since I think you're not making sense, yet you obviously know you are. Damned miscommunications! :-)
: Prerelease info had no Shiver, but did have a Voiceless
: One. As seen in the Names article, we had already
: connected the two together, but we thought it was just
: a name change.
Eh, prerelease is nothing, noncannon. Leave it for the dogs, heh.
: GURPS then says that Shiver's true name is Culwyeh (from
: the Wight flavor text in M2), and goes on to talk
: about her. Then, when describing The Voiceless One,
: Ravanna, (and the whole Eternal Sleep thing), it
: mentions how the Deceiver called the corporeal spirit
: of Shiver "Ravanna", indicating that the two
: are somehow the same. Because we had already made the
: connection before because of the names, I see no
: reason to think they just pulled this out of their
: asses.
: Because I left early Wednesday for the Fanfest, got home
: at 4AM last night, and had no internet connection in
: the mean time. I had enough time to glance over and
: respond to a few messages before I went to sleep, and
: I did read over your theory, but had no time to
: respond.
I understand then; thanks for at reading it, though.
: It seems pretty sound. I don't much like the idea of Nyx
: being the root of all evil, as she's always seemed
: generally decent to me, she's just got (or had) some
: problem with Wyrd. But that's just a gut feeling.
Well, then maybe my theory makes more sense then. If Nyx and Wyrd are just fighting eachother for competition of the world's domination, it would make sense that they cycle with their winnings and losings, going between Light and Dark very easily.
: The only real problems I see with it are that the Dark
: Gods are also called the Old Gods, indicating that
: Wyrd and Nyx and such, those not counted amongst the
: Old Gods are, somehow newer than them. That, and where
: does the Leveller spirit fit in with all of this? It
: seems to me that, in your theory, Nyx would be the
: Leveller spirit, the destroyer who posesses one of the
: champions every thousand years, not the B-spirit who
: gives a champion his order inclination. Not to mention
: the Savior, who I won't get in to until after M3 is
: out...
Well, your Cycle works perfectly and helps to explain a few things. Nyx doesn't HAVE to be evil all the time, as I'm leaning to now, so she can switch.
: The Cath Bruig Empire was founded in 1 AE (meaning : Acit
: El, or "Golden Age" in Bruig). This was 570
: years into the Second Era, the Age of Reason. Hence
: Great Wars always occur in 431, 1431, 2431, etc... The
: Great War that started the Age of Reason would have
: been 570 HC (nobody remembers what HC stands for, but
: some Asylumers guess it may mean Heron Calendar). The
: Great War before that, at the dawn of the First Era,
: would be 1570. If there were Great Wars before that,
: they would be 2570, 3570, etc.
Ah, thank you very much. This helps a lot.
I thought the Axe age was all of prehistory? There wasn't any beginning any less than millions of years ago then, right? The Trow talk about aeons of time.
