My guess is that spot is one of the dropship spots on "Halo" by the first beam tower—the one that's out further towards the way you ultimately leave the area in the Warthog, as opposed to the one spot that drops them right by the structure, and the other spot by where the Warthog gets dropped off/the auxiliary structures.

I kind of thought both he and Keyes look older—I guess you could fill in a bit more of your idea of what they looked like when they were relatively blocky and undetailed.
