: those days, but I haven't forgotten them.

: Reddit does tend to attract a certain amount of mass pretty quickly. I notice
: that most forums on the internet are depopulating as Reddit gains a level
: of critical mass for whatever game/tv show/franchise, and with bite-size
: spoilers/leaks coming out instantly on Twitter and getting wide exposure
: instantly, it makes a lot more sense for people to keep an eye out for
: tweets.

: The very structure of the internet has changed and it's sad, because even
: with the inherent clunkiness of old forum software there was a certain
: sense of community that came with being a forum, and forumgoers always
: found a way to make the format work anyway.

: Absolutely.

Even when we were starting work on our Community Evolved book back in 2011, social media and the like were pivoting the center of gravity away from forums. There are very few left that remain; it's just not how most people consume their news and interact anymore, unfortunately.
