Your illustration of the star roads in particular actually really matched my mental image. I always imagined them as glowing fibers, like great strands of hair, but I could never really reconcile that with my secondary mental image of them also looking like giant metal cables. Your illustrations merges the two pretty perfectly. And I really like the way you colored the stars to show the effect they have on spacetime around them. It might not come across without understanding that that's what's intended, but having read the books, I definitely pick up on that eerie, reality-altering vibe.
