: This is a giant 'what if' but I've said before given the vista we see in High
: Charity with the Dreadnought at the center of the Covenant city, what if
: High Charity (or a portion that perhaps came with the Dreadnought when it
: left the Prophets' homeworld was actually an identical portal system like
: at Voi, except the Covenant didn't know it? What if they could have
: activated the Dreadnought where it stood at the center of High Charity and
: we would have seen 7 giant arms lift up, wrecking the holy city and then
: producing a portal to the Ark? That would have been something to see.

That would have been cool, and it could've avoided some of the problems with bringing things back to Earth. What if the Covenant hadn't known how it worked, but the Gravemind had, and could've activated the portal without the dreadnought? Then we could've had the return to Earth and a simple answer for how High Charity got to the Ark without the issue of not trying to infect Earth. ideas for the reboot...
