Joe has been the only author thus far to really showcase what the Jiralhanae were all about. I'd say there's a good chance of this novella featuring them. Shadow of Intent was routinely on patrol in the Joint Occupation Zones, areas of space formerly controlled by the Covenant now monitored by Human-Sangheili forces, now teeming with Jiralhanae activity. The peace accord on Ealen IV between Lord Hood and the Arbiter, and the Chieftain Lydus aimed to formalize relations between the two factions and end the surge of piracy.
