I tolerated 343i's art direction in Halo 4. Sure, the Spartans and marines and weapons and elites and grunts and jackals and forerunner architecture and Covenant architecture all looked worse off in Halo 4 compared to any of their myriad designs in the other games (and both Anniversaries), and the new forerunner enemies and weapons were lacking, but maybe it could get better. Now it's clear that 343i is intent on making it worse.

I was hoping the work on MCC would cause some of Bungie's style to rub back off on 343i, but it seems like they're going even farther with their awful art style. In some ways, Halo 4 is the ugliest game in the Master Chief Collection and I'm worried what Halo 5 will look like. Even Saber does Halo much, much better.

At least it's kind of fun to play?
