: As a software tester, I'm pretty shocked the game has been launched in this
: state - and that's with me completely accepting that some bugs will always
: make it into the release build.
: I can even stretch to at least partially accepting the matchmaking issues
: (difficulty in simulating server loads + the move to dedicated servers),
: but it just doesn't seem like the game was tested anywhere near enough.
: I wonder if launching the Halo Channel alongside the MCC maybe spread 343i
: too thin? Or possibly there was a reduced focus on testing given that the
: single player elements of each games (bar H2A itself) are
: resolution-upgraded ports?
It makes me wonder how long it would take to get the game to a workable state? I mean, not being able to make ANY objective maps in Halo 3 seems like a HUGE issue that should have come up in testing. But as you said, it seems like the game wasn't tested nearly as much as it should have been. It's completely broken, and I'm AMAZED that it was green-lighted to be released.
I'm looking forward to playing custom games and matchmaking, but I have only been able to get into 1 matchmaking game, and I've been experiencing a bunch of custom game issues as well (Mainly involving teams switching up at the beginning of games, and then not being able to change them).
With all of the glaring issues that plague this game, it's a wonder how long it will take 343 to fix all of them. Are some of these huge issues here to stay? Or will 343 actually take the time to fix it? *Sigh* I guess this gives me plenty of time to get all the campaign achievements.... probably on my own based on the problems I've heard people having with co-op as well.
