Then I played it. (PC version with my 360 controller)

It manages to exclude almost everything I hate in CoD when on foot: small-ish maps, cluttered lines-of-sight, restricted pathways, either too much time spent hunting people or too little time spent alive. For the Pilot, the maps are huge, with sufficient cover around but otherwise clean. Wall-running and double-jumping makes the possibilities of movement almost unlimited. There are bots all over to keep the map populated.

And in the Titan, everything just feels so... right.

I have no idea how long it'll last. It needs more maps and gametypes than the beta to keep things interesting for a whole years, IMO, but I think the full game will have them.
