: No one wanted to correct the information, or explain what happened?
: Bungie used to be truthful when things went wrong...

You have a very selective memory. Bungie kept (KEEPS) their mouth shut about all sorts of things - all companies do.
Criminy - Bungie's VERY FIRST PUBLIC BLUNDER was telling us that Marathon was 'waiting on the boxes'. Gimme a break. Their first example of 'creative deadline damage control' was 15 years before 343 even existed as a company. But yeah, sure, they're always 'truthful'.
Dates change, targets sometimes get missed. What do you want them to say? "We told you in October that we'd be done with Spartan Assault for the 360 in December. We didn't make that deadline, so we pushed it to January. We might not make that deadline either."
You might find that "honest", but for the average fan, that kind of statement could probably best be described as 'marketing suicide'.
You have a problem with 343. We get it. Oh god do we get it. I would ask, though, as a moderator around here, that you hold yourself back from repeating a particular point once you've made it once or twice. It gets tiring.
