This is a great fear I have too.
DVR-like abilities have the potential to further democratize game videos in a similar way (but much more pervasive) that Bungie Pro Rendering did. But this is just the conversion stage from a game to video. Having proper control over the camera multiplies the usefulness of these features many times.
I get the bad feeling that the 'auto-edit' feature that Killer-instinct demonstrated is going to get the reputation for low-quality, low-skill, ego-trip, jock-y, cookie-cutter vids very quickly.
But if you give people proper creative freedom, the ceiling is much higher.
