: I am one of the few amongst my peers who sees this modded content for the
: problem it presents. They don't even know it's modded. People innocently
: put them in their fileshares and can subsequently have their 360 and
: account perma banned. If adults can be confused about it, surely young
: people can. FyreWulff suggests the modded content can't be detected but I
: wouldn't be so sure. I think 343i is just playing the quiet card, for now.
: Modded content is expressly forbidden, as stated on Waypoint somewhere but
: I forgot to copy the link.
: The modded gametype in question even has a whacky date (11/16/71) in it. That
: should be easy enough to find.
The 'people' monitoring fileshares are not the same people who control the XBL banhammers. And unlike screenshots and films, game types don't have an associated signature from a game server, so they wouldn't have anything that automatically screams out as modded unless they were to checksum the non-editable bits of the game type with ones that have been officially released. And congrats on finding (a part) of another one of the easter eggs ;p
