: Other Humans have only ever been roadblocks that will have your back at the
: end of the day. Halsey is different. I don't have a shadow of a doubt
: thinking that she'd sacrifice a Marine division to save one of her
: Spartans. Her wits, access, and ruthless brilliance would pose a
: formidable threat. On the other hand, BB would only have John's best
: interest at heart when it leads to a successful mission outcome - Halsey's
: death. John is a smart man and wouldn't put too much trust in his new
: companion's judgment. Their shared history with Halsey, Parangosky, and
: Osman would put them at odds, even if neither of them would ever admit it.
: This would surely give the most fluid relationship the games have ever
: seen, That alone excites the hell out of me.

: However, as Halsey's capture and declaration of revenge was featured only in
: Spartan Ops, I have doubts as to whether or not this could be a real
: possibility for Halo 5. Every game in the series has relied little on
: ancillary content, such as novels and comics, to move their story forward.
: Could the same be said for a bonus(?) feature like Spartan Ops?

Well, I suppose that everybody would realize that tasking John to kill Halsey would cause a massive conflict for him. So, nobody but a fiction writer would give him that task.

They may give him BB to keep an eye on him and then send him off somewhere well out of harm's way whilst: Palmer is tasked to kill Katherine. Then, somehow, John becomes involved and it all kicks off.
