I can understand why folks stat-pad in the playlist, sadly. The incentive system's been screwed up since Reach. People get more credits/XP/commendations for racking up kills than they do for winning. Halo 3 had it exactly right -- you get one or two points for winning, and zero for losing. It doesn't matter how many kills you got or how long you dragged out the game. It was completely binary and dependent entirely on winning.

I wish we could go back to that system, at least for objective playlists. Hopefully the CSR will help a little in that regarding, since wins and losses are the only thing taken into account for your Grifball rank. And winning faster -> more games played ->faster rank-ups.

As Goose said, we always recommend that people go into the playlist with a team of at least three people. Communication is key in Grifball, and it's a pain to play any objective game when each member of the team is off on their own, or doesn't even have a mic.

The official Grifball community does what we can to discourage people from stat-padding in matchmaking (since it's a playlist created and maintained by our community). Folks who go into Grifball matchmaking and grief others aren't welcome in our official leagues and events. Some of our best community members are people who used to stat-pad, but gave it up to join GrifballHub.
