The way Sorvad's body was presented in Reach made it seem like you were going to find a dead Halsey, but the only way you would know that it's Halsey is because you saw her in the promotional material for the game. And the shock factor would only really affect fans because they know and care about Halsey, but we already know she survives Reach.
It seems like a strange design choice :\
