Well, "Gun Game" itself is a term for a game mode originally from Counter Strike where you start with a powerful weapon and have to get a kill with it to rank up for the next round; if you got shanked you *lost* a level. The point is to get through all the weapons first. Halo 4 had a pretty good modded game type for it, which obviously not many people played, but it was a lot of fun. At least from the audio cues, it sounds like this gun game type will be similar, although you're right it'd be great if the mode had flexibility a la Infection to be used for all sorts of random mini games.
