Games have been doing that for 20 years though, it would be incredibly lazy to fall back now to what amounts to 3D stick figure animation.
Overall, at least these guys make more sense from a lore perspective, and they don't literally have screaming skulls (I mean honestly what the fuck is this, Castlevania?).
