Stop Relying on Twitch For Streaming!

I've mentioned in a post that Twitch now has a VERY IRRITATING copyright claim system in place. It's very much the same as YouTube has had in the past. The difference is that at least YouTube gives you options filing an appeal. Sadly, Twitch does not have that option.

For the last two Friday nights, I've streamed Customs Night so that we can have the footage for upcoming videos. And BOTH TIME, Twitch has muted most of the audio with bogus claims. Claiming that there's music in section that there isn't and that. Why? Because a automated system THINKS that the music in Halo's Menu is not allowed. And it keeps that audio muted even after you have exited the menu and started playing the game, WHERE THERE IS NO MUSIC!

Two weeks ago, I filed a appeal and I've FINALLY got a reply from Twitch. And I believe it is filled with 100% Bull *(#&!! The email is below. Here's a link to this past Friday's stream. Needless to say, I'll not be streaming again. As if we can't use the footage WITH SOUND, then there's no point:

Hi sespider,
Some game audio has been copyright protected, and is thus in Audible Magic’s database. In this case, various “Halo” soundtracks ( or parts of them ) have been copyright protected by the content owner for the purpose of rebroadcasting.
Unfortunately, we cannot unmute your video for this reason. Note that any match within a broadcast chunk will cause the entire chunk ( usually about 30 minutes ) to be muted regardless of what other content is in the chunk.
Additionally, while certain tracks may be licensed to a game for the purpose of playback to the end user, those rights may not transfer to the end user for the purpose of rebroadcasting.
There is nothing for you to do right now. You can delete the video at any time you desire, or keep it with the muted section.
Note that you can ( and should ) still highlight the content you wish to keep, and keep those highlights if the mute is only due to content in the highlight’s “parent” broadcast chunk. Doing so will allow the highlight to be separated and re-scanned at a later date as we integrate improvements to our video systems; However, keep in mind that there is currently no ETA on when this conversion process will take place, sorry!
