1. Halo theme Gungnir mix:
Lots of electric, but very clean, and man it just felt so intense! I literally did get shivers once or twice at moments of power. The bass, the beat, feels so very..alive.
2. Second Prelude:
Very clean, very clear. Nothing bad to say about it. I think stands more as a technical demo of the sound quality than anything else. I hoped there'd be more to the track :P
3. Breaking the Covenent
guh? I was never a fan of unstructured metal-flavour tracks. For instance I remove the Movement of the Odyssey tracks when I load my playlist, except for Follow, because they just frankly hurt my ears :P. As a soundtrack, this style just doesn't fit, IMO, with the other tracks. It's jaunting.
4. Impart
Loved this track for the heartbeat line, and I love how the details of the other instruments really pop out. Again, those words: clear, clean. Love.
5. Kilindini Harbor
So much the nostalgia! The theme is strong, and I like the mix a lot.
6. Unforgotten Memories
Another of my favourite H2 tracks - such an emotional theme. I could feel it in the instruments. Beautiful.
Overall? I love it. I'll probably again remove the Movement pieces to keep the entire soundtrack playable through and cohesive, but that's not a loss for the A album since I already do that with the original.
These tracks give me strong hope for the quality of the remake. I cannot wait.
