It's definitely not a glitch. It's a change in zoom. (The normal loading screen is a closeup of the halo ring forming. With sticks in, you jump out to be able to see the entire ring at one time. Definitely planned. The view you saw in Zedd's video was with him pushing the sticks in and out quickly, jumping the zoom level.)
