Honestly, I really don't understand the distinction between 'fan art' and 'parody art' in regards to this piece, and how removing only the eyes would push it toward fan art. As I see it, the basic shapes, poses, and positioning of your characters are more than enough to convey the Calvin and Hobbes influence/parody.
Are there legal ramifications between 'fan art' and 'parody art' that you're worried about?
